Production Workers / Factory Hands – Temp to Perm
Location: Coomera
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am–3:00pm | Friday, 6:00am–12:00pm
Pay: $34.06–$45.73 per hour, depending on experience, plus overtime opportunities
Ready to get your hands dirty and learn something new?
We’re on the lookout for reliable, hands-on Production Workers and Factory Hands to join an established manufacturing team based in Coomera, working in the boat-building industry.
This is a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door with a supportive workplace that values its workers, looks after its team and rewards people who show up, work hard and take pride in what they do.
The roles are temp-to-perm for the right candidates, giving you the opportunity to prove yourself, develop new skills and secure a permanent position.
Whether you've worked in manufacturing for years or you're keen to get into a new industry, we'd love to hear from you!
What will you be doing?
This is a practical, hands-on role working with raw materials to help build, prepare and finish large components used in the manufacturing process.
You'll be working alongside an experienced team, learning the ropes and helping turn raw materials into quality finished products.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
-
Sanding, grinding and preparing raw materials and surfaces
-
Using hand and power tools to shape, smooth and finish components
-
Assisting with general production and manufacturing tasks
-
Working with different materials throughout the production process
-
Following instructions and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
-
Keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe
-
Working alongside an experienced team to meet production deadlines
A little heads-up: this is hands-on work, and there will be plenty of repetitive sanding, grinding and surface preparation. We're looking for people who enjoy keeping busy, working with their hands and taking pride in a quality finish.
What are we looking for?
We're open to candidates from a range of backgrounds. Previous experience in boat building, marine, woodworking, carpentry, cabinetmaking, fibreglass, composites, spray painting or general manufacturing would be ideal, but it's certainly not essential.
More important than industry experience is the right attitude! If you're practical, reliable, keen to learn and interested in getting into the manufacturing or marine industry, this could be a great opportunity to get started.
Ideally, you'll have:
-
Previous experience in labouring, factory work, manufacturing, production or a similar hands-on role
-
Confidence using hand and power tools
-
Experience with sanding, grinding, polishing, woodworking or surface preparation (highly regarded)
-
A strong work ethic and a reliable approach to attendance
-
Good attention to detail and pride in your work
-
The ability to handle repetitive tasks and remain focused throughout the day
-
A willingness to learn new skills and work as part of a team
You don't need to be a qualified tradesperson or have previous boat-building experience. If you've got the right attitude and are willing to give it a go, we're happy to consider candidates looking for a fresh start or a new career path.
What's in it for you?
-
$34.06–$45.73 per hour, depending on experience
-
Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate
-
Consistent weekday hours with early finishes on Fridays
-
Overtime opportunities paid at applicable penalty rates
-
Uniforms and PPE supplied
-
Annual pay increases in line with the applicable arrangements
-
Free on-site parking
-
A modern, well-equipped manufacturing facility
-
The opportunity to learn new skills and develop within a specialised industry
-
Long-term career opportunities for the right people
-
A supportive team environment where reliable workers are valued and looked after
