Mechanical Fitter – Shutdown

Location: Beef City, Purrawunda QLD
Shutdown Dates: 4th–7th September
Pay Rate: $70/hr Days | $80/hr Nights
Living Away Allowance: $100 per day
Accommodation: Provided

About the Role

Spectra Recruitment is currently seeking experienced, trade-qualified Mechanical Fitters to join an upcoming shutdown at a major meat processing facility in Beef City, near Toowoomba.

This is a short-term shutdown opportunity suited to Mechanical Fitters with strong maintenance, mechanical fitting and shutdown experience who are available for the full duration of the shutdown.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical maintenance and shutdown works
• Inspect, repair, dismantle and reassemble mechanical equipment
• Complete preventative and corrective maintenance
• Work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced processing environment
• Follow site safety procedures and shutdown requirements
• Work effectively as part of a maintenance and shutdown team

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
• Previous shutdown and maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical fitting skills
• Ability to work safely in an industrial environment
• Reliable transport and ability to attend site as required
• Availability for the full shutdown period: 4th–7th September
• Ability to work day and/or night shifts as required

Q Fever vaccination/immunity is desirable but not mandatory.
